​Murder Mystery Parties can be played in Person or as Virtual Party on zoom. We provide the murder mystery games, costumes and accessories to create a memorable, fun, safe party.
 
It is so fun and easy, with no acting required, the Costume Annex's Murder Mystery Game Party Packages can be held in person or virtually on Zoom.
 
The games are created so that everyone interacts together. Guests do not have to memorize anything and only have to act out their parts with a scripted dialogue in a handy character booklet.

In these uncertain times of social isolation – there has become a need to socialize while keeping our distance, yet people still want to have get-togethers,....even if they are smaller than before.
Playing a Murder Mystery Dinner Party Game at home with friends and family......while social distancing is the perfect solution! You can play  virtually, with your relatives and friends in other states as well, on Zoom! *Each manufacturer's game may have slightly different instructions.

COVID GUIDELINES: You will be required to meet us at our store for costume selection, fitting and final payment. We require you to wear masks and use hand sanitizer on the premises. We provide masks and gloves for protection. All rental costumes and accessories are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.





BOXED SET

Rent a Boxed Set: (Comes with 6 basic costumes $295 or deluxe costumes $495) Additional costumes and accessories are available for an additional fee.

This is the easiest way to play.  The boxed game includes everything you need:

  • Instruction booklet (includes hints and tips)
  • Invitations and envelopes for all the guests
  • Character booklets
  • CD of the inspector
  • Inspector script in a sealed envelope so you don’t find out the solution by accident!
  • Making the most of your theme and recipe suggestion booklet.


* You must return the game in perfect condition for the next rental or you will be charged for the game.


Remember… if you just need 1 extra person, or 1 less person, why not have someone play the inspector role?

The inspector can usually be male or female as the “for real” inspector can simply invent a new name for themselves. Some hosts prefer to play the inspector role as it means they can work on the catering while the round plays out amongst their guest.

(Comes with 6 basic costumes $295 or deluxe costumes $495) Additional costumes and accessories are available for an additional fee.

Each “download and print at home” kit is provided as a zip file containing a set of PDF files for you to print at home, and a selection of MP3 files to use on the night for sound.

Each dinner party game requires:

  • Use of a printer and paper (approx. 80 sheets for a 6 player kit – 240 sheets for a 20 player kit)
  • Envelopes (your provide)  so you can send out your invitations,
  • A computer with a MP3 player to play sound and music


How it works:

When you order the game package with costumes,  you’ll be sent or given a voucher with an email  link to download the files you need.  The file will be a zip file.  This can be opened with a zip compatible program on your computer.  If you struggle to open zip files – we can email you the game directly over several emails instead – just contact us after purchase to arrange this. 

You will need to make an appointment for your costume fittings and final payment.

​Virtual Game on a Computer

Virtual Set:   Comes with 6 basic costumes $295 or deluxe costumes $495) Additional costumes and accessories are available for an additional fee.

  • Pick the game you want to play and download it.  We’re here to help you if you need an odd gender ratio of guests, or just have odd guests you need us to accommodate. 
  • Email all your guests using our invitations which give them just enough information to prepare for their role and set the scene. Include information about which virtual software / app you will be using (see our hints and tips for more on this!). 
  • Email character booklet files to guests, addressing the page their chosen character’s information starts from. It is recommended to send them a single sided print option for easier use on screen.
  • Host your virtual party! 
  • Everything you need is provided in a character booklet, which means everyone knows what they should be talking about at every stage of the party. The inspector’s dialogue can be played across the video call (via microphone), or simply read in person from the provided script.
